Mothering Communities is a social art project in public space on forms of maternal and communal caregiving. This summer, it hosted workshops for children and adults, performances, talks, concerts, and artistic experimentation in Vienna. At Depot, the discussion of care relations in and around mother*hood is continuing: contradictions and potentials of art, society and mother*hood based on artistic, curatorial and personal experiences. How can caregiving be reinvented? What infrastructure, resources, forms of creativity, and time and collaboration does caring for a future generation require?
