The glossary currently contains 68 terms and was created parallel to the Pay the artist now! Infotour 2023/24.
In 2021, the IG Bildende Kunst and the Künstler*innen Vereinigung Tirol published recommendations for fair pay in the visual arts. A lot has happened since then, but practice has also shown that there are still many misunderstandings regarding the terminology we use as artists and cultural workers in our daily work processes.
The glossary is a comprehensive source of information that visual artists have developed for visual artists in the independent scene in order to untangle the complex terminology surrounding public funding in art and culture in Austria.
In our effort to promote clarity and accessibility, we have tried to transform complex technical terms into clear and concise explanations to make this glossary another tool for artists and cultural workers in the independent scene.
